Frequently Asked Questions

How often will students and mentors meet?

After a middle school student is paired with their 11th or 12th-grade mentor, they, together, will decide on days, times, and the duration of sessions that works for their respective schedules. The frequency of classes will depend on the student's needs/desires and the availability of the mentor.

Where will sessions be conducted?

All sessions will be held via zoom, google-meets, or an equivalent online platform (for safety and convenience purposes). Despite the restrictions of online learning, we are committed to creating a welcoming and engaging learning environment for our students.

How are mentors selected?

Each prospective mentor is required to provide their grade point average, course list, and reason for volunteering as a NeXXgen mentor. We ensure that each selected member is knowledgeable in their respective subject and shows a commitment to learning, equity, and inclusion.

Who is eligible for mentorship?

All middle school females (grades 6-8) are eligible to receive mentorship. While we are currently serving schools in Pennsylvania, we plan to expand our organization to reach young girls across the country.
